  • When I use information or media in my school projects, I give credit to the original creator through attribution and/or a works cited section.

  • When I look for quotes, pictures, or other media to use in my school projects, I use resources that tell me how the original creator wants their works used.

  • It is important to credit the sources I use in my school projects.

  • When something can be copied by hand or on a computer, it doesn't matter if I use it without giving the original creator credit for their work.

  • When I select information or media to use in my school projects, I try to find out who the original creator is/was.

  • Everybody should use other people's ideas or creations without checking for permission.

Why pre/post testing?
This is one way to gauge a difference between students' knowledge of and attitudes towards copyright before a unit teaching the use of Creative Commons licensing. You can use their scores to demonstrate that they are more deliberative and thoughtful users of other people's intellectual material following lessons in CC licensing.
